Impact
and sustainability

Since its creation almost 20 years ago, Bartle has supported companies and organisations in their transformations, inviting them to rethink their economic, societal and environmental models.

Bartle works with its clients on their sustainability challenges, building on its own commitments: the firm has been B Corp certified since 2019 and is an active participant in CEC Consulting (The French Convention of Companies for the Climate in the consulting sector).

Impact has become a core element of all the firm’s approaches and expertise used to support client transformations. We consult on projects ranging from sustainability, to impact, the decarbonisation of business activities and compliance with new reporting standards (The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive [CSRD], the EU Taxonomy Regulation, and others.).

Decarbonisation strategy

Working with a publishing-sector player – Carrying out an assessment of its carbon impact, measuring its CO2 emissions across the three scopes (with a simultaneous carbon footprint across eight countries) and defining a decarbonisation strategy across the three scopes, with a focus on purchasing and paper.

In this project, we led numerous multi-country workshops and provided multinational project management. We created a governance structure, formalised an emissions reduction trajectory, and prepared and led strategic communications within the group’s component parts.

Our teams are trained in carrying out carbon footprint assessment and defining decarbonisation strategies.

CSRD double materiality analysis and compliance roadmap

Working with a player in the vehicle-rental sector – Definition and support for a major CSRD compliance project running to 2026, starting with the mapping of stakeholders and the value chain, as well as the identification of IROs (impacts, risks, and opportunities).

We conducted over 20 interviews with stakeholders, held workshops with the business functions to determine the materiality of the impacts and worked with the risks to define the financial materiality rating matrix. We then worked with the company’s teams on gap analysis – to structure the compliance roadmap and develop the framework of the future sustainability report.

We have a dedicated CSRD Team at Bartle, combining CSR, audit and financial-performance expertise, and have completed some ten CSRD projects over the last 12 months.

Materiality analysis, biodiversity study and philanthropy strategy

Working with a major regional insurance player – Support in carrying out a materiality analysis to enrich the CSR strategy, involving a large number of internal and external stakeholders. Our client wanted to identify the main CSR challenges to cement its strategy

In parallel, we conducted a study on biodiversity issues and impacts in the region, in order to identify the levers for engagement for the company and define a strategic approach that combined overall strategy, impact, biodiversity and geographical anchoring in the region.

Defining a sustainable innovation strategy

Working with an agro-industrial player – Definition of sustainability criteria and a sustainable innovation process to be integrated into the group’s innovation system, enabling innovation to help drive the group’s sustainability strategy, in line with its overall strategy.

At the start of the project, we carried out inspirational benchmarking of players in the agro-industrial sector to identify the best practices in sustainable innovation: indicators, processes, methods, sustainability criteria, etc.
