Personal data and processing: 

Bartle undertakes to offer its clients the highest level of personal data security in the context of the services it provides. 

 

We earn your trust by protecting the personal data you submit to Bartle and by acting with simplicity and transparency. 

Data collection 

Pursuant to the Belgian Data Protection Act of 30 July 2018 and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), and in the course of its business activities, Bartle collects and processes some of your personal data. Submitting personal data is voluntary and is not a condition for using the site. These personal data are collected from you directly or indirectly.

For example, Bartle collects information about you in the following situations:

  • When you browse our website, including the mobile version;
  • When you submit a contact form or register for one of our events; 
  • When you sign up for a newsletter; 
  • When you download documents from our website; and 
  • When you submit a job application to our recruitment portal. 

Data collected 

We collect the following data:

  • Professional information: company, position;

Bartle does not collect certain types of personal data (so-called sensitive data) on its website. If we are compelled to collect or use sensitive data, we will request your explicit consent. 

We are vigilant in protecting the privacy of minors. We do not deliberately collect personal data from minors.

Processing of personal data in the course of consulting projects:

In the context of our assignments, we are also likely to process personal data. In this case, the data are processed exclusively within the contractual framework defined by the assignment. Please refer to our data protection policy to learn about the measures put in place to limit access to data and maintain the confidentiality of the information processed in the specific context of our services.

Legal basis for processing

Your personal data are only processed in situations where such processing is founded on a legal basis as described below: 

  • Compliance with a legal obligation incumbent on Bartle;
  • Protection of Bartle’s legitimate interests;
  • The performance of a signed contract or pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject; or
  • Consent is given by the data subject. 

We process your data to: 

  • Compile internal statistics and conduct analyses with a view to improving the quality of services offered to you;

Recipients

Your personal data are transmitted to internal departments at Bartle. Bartle hereby informs you that it calls on accredited service providers to facilitate the collection and processing of data you have shared with us. These service providers are located within the European Union and receive the data gathered through the forms located on the website.

Bartle has already confirmed that its service providers provide adequate guarantees and comply with strict conditions regarding data confidentiality, use and protection.

Bartle may be asked by the authorities to disclose personal data.

Bartle ensures that it has sufficient personal data protection guarantees (including from its partners and service providers) each time data are transferred.

Data storage 

Bartle has opted for data processing and hosting in France. 

Data retention period

Bartle only processes adequate and relevant data, limited to the data which are necessary for the purpose at hand. This entails, among other things, ensuring that the period of data retention is kept to a strict minimum. This data retention period varies according to the nature of the data, their purpose and the legal and regulatory requirements governing them.

Data protection 

Bartle ensures that “appropriate technical and organisational measures” are taken, depending on the nature of the data, the purposes of processing and the related risks. If an incident occurs that results in a personal data breach, Bartle will notify the competent supervisory authority of the incident and, if necessary, notify the persons concerned as soon as possible.

Individual rights

Pursuant to applicable data protection regulations, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access and receive information about your personal data and how they are processed;
  • The right to rectification, including the ability to supplement and update your information; 
  • The right to portability making it possible to convey personal information by submitting a request to a third party when technically possible, with the stipulation that this right applies only to data provided directly by the data subject; 
  • The right to decide what happens to your data when you die;
  • The right to erasure;
  • The right to restrict the processing of your personal data; 
  • The right to object to processing; and
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the use of your data.

We hereby inform you that, when required by law, in order to fulfil its contractual obligations, to protect the public interest (anti-fraud and anti-terrorist financing), or when acting in its legitimate interest, Bartle reserves the right, exceptionally, not to honour the content of certain requests (for erasure, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent).

Furthermore, in the case of requests that are clearly unfounded or excessive, in particular because of their repetitive nature, Bartle may:

  • Require the payment of reasonable fees that reflect the administrative costs incurred to provide the information, engage in communication or take the actions requested; or
  • Refuse to honour the requests.

Nevertheless, it falls to Bartle to demonstrate the clearly unfounded or excessive nature of these requests.
